Responsive Design Newsletter Logo Image Setup
In this tutorial we focus on the responsive design newsletter's logo image and how to name the image and upload the image so it's automatically recognized by the newsletter when it's uploaded to the web server. Finally, we discuss the steps involved to set up the newsletter to accept a customized image size.
To begin with, notice the default size for the newsletter's logo image is 200 pixels wide by 50 pixels high, as shown in the image below. Furthermore, the default name for the logo image is email_logo.jpg.
With that said, if you were to open up your image application and either create a logo image or resize an existing image with the dimensions mentioned above and name it email_logo.jpg, you can use UPLOAD FILES button on the main newsletter functions screen to upload your logo image to the Relevant Tools server.
Note: If you need help with creating and⁄or resizing a logo image, please let us know and we would be happy to help you.
To display the main newsletter functions screen to upload your logo image to the Relevant Tools server, click on "MESSAGES", at the top of the screen. Then, click on the "Newsletters" menu option, in the submenu, at the top of the screen, shown below.
In the main newsletter functions screen, shown below, notice there are 4 newsletter functions. The first three have to do with editing, generating and creating a newsletter message, respectively. However, the forth function, the Upload Files function, is used every so often to upload images and pdf documents as in this case the logo image created above.
To continue, click on the "UPLOAD FILES" button, shown below, to begin the proces of uploading the logo image.
The screen below, the Newsletter File Upload screen, should now be displayed. Again, this screen is used for uploading both documents in a *.pdf format and pictures in a *.jpg, *.gif or *.png image file format.
Notice there is an option to overwrite an existing file, which we are going to use here because, we need to overwrite or replace the current logo image that comes with your Relevant Tools newsletter with the one created in the above steps.
To continue, leave the default File format radio button alone; however, click on the "Yes" radio button to Overwrite existing file because, again, we are overwriting the existing logo image. Next, click on the "Choose File" button and locate the logo image on your local computer. Finally, click on the "UPLOAD" button to upload your file to the server.
The screen below, the Newsletter File Upload confirmation screen, should now be displayed notifying you that your new logo image has successfully been uploaded to the Relevant Tools server.
To view the newsletter with your new logo image, click on "MESSAGES", at the top of the screen to redisplay the main newsletter functions screen. Then, click on the "Newsletters" menu option, in the submenu, shown below.
The main newsletter functions screen, shown below, should again be displayed. To display the newsletter with the new logo image, click on the "EDIT NEWSLETTER" or "GENERATE NEWSLETTER" functions, shown below.
If all went well, the newsletter with the new logo image, shown below, should now be displayed.
Note: You may have to click on refresh in your browser to see the newsletter web page with the new logo because browsers cache web pages on the local computer in an effort to save page loading time.
Steps to Customize the Logo Image
The screen below shows you just one of the many ways can customize your logo image. The steps involved in this process are very simple. Create a new logo image named email_logo.jpg with a width of 580 pixels or less and a height of 120 pixels or less and upload it to the Relevant Tools server using the file upload steps above. Then notify us here, at Relevant Tools that you have uploaded a logo image with a customized height and width and we will take care of the rest. Once we have completed our work we will notify you that the newsletter is ready for use.
Note: The changes that were made to the logo image below are that the size of the image was changed from 200 pixels wide by 50 pixels wide to 580 pixels wide by 115 pixels high, the background color was changed from aqua to light gray and finally, the logo image was linked to the company web site. These are just some of the changes that can be made to the logo section of the newsletter.
In summary we shown you how to name and upload the responsive design newsletter's logo image so it's automatically recognized by the newsletter when it's uploaded to the Relevant Tools server. Additionally, we discuss the steps involved to set up the newsletter to accept a customized logo image size and shown you an example of a newsletter with a customized logo.
